Woodvolt explores experimental ambient soundscapes created through interactions of wood, paper and electronics.

Each piece features a hand-made sound device created from pieces of wood, paper boxes, dowels, brushes and other organic material. Piezo mics embedded in the devices connect to the electronics.

The immersive sounds found in these works followed a guiding theme -- the expression of the interconnected way of the environment and the beauty and complexity of nature around us no matter where we are. Woodvolt is arranged with the hope of encouraging active listening and curiosity.

The approach for these recordings was to use a microphone and wood-based objects combined with electronics to create a dense weave of sounds interacting, changing, evolving. Each piece was recorded live with real-time interactions and manipulations.

Wood objects include various dowels, wood trim pieces, two different wood combs, a set of small wooden dice.

Out Of Space is a live performance created using a modular synthesizer, electronic pedals, and interactions with a custom-built wood block sound device.
